Ethiopia announces three new cases of coronavirus

Ethiopia has announced three new confirmed cases of coronavirus, taking the total number of people infected by the virus in the country to nine.

According to Ethiopia’s Health Minister Lia Tadesse, the cases involved a 44-year-old Japanese national, an 85-year-old  Ethiopian national and a 39-year-old Australian. The newly diagnosed Japanese national is identified as having been in contact with another case reported previously and the two others had arrived from abroad. While the two confirmed cases are said to be in a “stable condition”, the 85-year-old Ethiopian “has a severe form of illness and under close medical care”, the Minister wrote on Twitter.

Lia said the 6 confirmed cases under follow up are in good condition, with four of them recovering and having no symptom and two of the patients have mild to moderate symptoms and they are under follow up.

While the country is yet to close its borders, officials have urged those traveling from affected countries, to self-quarantine or self-isolate for 14 days upon entry.

  1. Ethopian airline will be responsible for coronavirus outbreaks in africa . As its continued operations to virus affected area .

    1. Do you think African Countries are sub servant of Ethiopian Airlines? All measures are there for countries including barring flight ins. Therefore no one will buy this stupid idea.

  2. Ethiopian government is so reckless about the issue.
The security police at metro station in Addis Ababa is forcefully and misbehaving touching every individual and checking his bag negligently.
These police personals are spreading diseases to thousands of Ethiopians.

  3. Does Ethiopia differ from the core of humanity? It is vulnerable like any other country to coronavirus. One is amazed by the invincible ignorance of these Weyanes and their Egyptian masters. Both are more worst than this epidemic. How comes one forget the expedition of General Napier’s caravan from British India, who brought the rinderpest that ravaged the continent of Africa. Ethiopians still remember vividly this episode as a cautionary note during the iron fist rule of TPLF for 27 years.
