Ethiopia travel and tourism industry players are participating in the 2019 Brussels Holiday Fair this week. The fair kicked off yesterday and will go on until Sunday, February 10. Five Ethiopian tour companies, Dynasty Ethiopia Tour, Gamel Ethiopia Tour, JH Simex Tour, Tema Tour Ethiopia, Vast Ethiopia Tours and Ethiopian Airlines are taking part in the fair.
Under the brand slogan: “Land of Origins”, the Ethiopian delegation is marketing the country to attract Belgian tourists and strengthen the county’s position on the world tourism map as an attractive tourist destination.
Ethiopian ambassador to Belgium, Ambassador Girum Abay inaugurated the Ethiopian stand at the Holiday Fair and attended a traditional coffee ceremony.
Over the course of four days, more than 100,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition which features over 800 exhibitors who will be represented on stands in three halls. Participants include hoteliers, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies.
Ethiopia has recorded a smooth growth in tourism this year yet has been struggling for years to put together a tourism strategy that would have more international visitors.
In a week, 6 Ethiopian Air flights operate on the Brussels route.
