A large collection of paintings by artist Mulugeta Tafesse will be on show in Addis Ababa this Saturday at LeLa Art gallery. The exhibition titled “Frivolous Marks” runs from October 20, 3pm onwards until 18 November.
LeLa is honored to present a collection of new works by Mulugeta, an artist we have worked with for over 10 years, the gallery said in a press release.
“Mulugeta is normally engaged in walking a narrow path between the complex balance of his sophisticated theoretical knowledge and his painterly activities. Mulugeta’s figurative pieces and pictorial investigations are deeply thought out and insightful depictions of the human condition that unobtrusively lead the viewer to states of reflection,” according to the press release.
Graduated from the Fine Arts School of Addis Ababa, the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, and La Laguna University in Spain, artist, art critic, and art theoretician Mulugeta has exhibited internationally in both groups and solo shows. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections.
Mulugeta’s paintings and critical essays can be found at www.mulugetatafesse.com
