Grima Beyene & Akalé Wubé to perform at the National Theatre

The popular Ethiopian lyricist, arranger, vocalist and accomplished pianist Girma Beyene performs at the National Theatre in Addis Ababa with a Parisian band, Akalé Wubé on Saturday, June 10. Girma who had been a major player during the 1960’s and 70’s budding music scene along with Mahmoud Ahmed, Alemayehu Eshete performs at the National Theatre to promote the album, Mistakes on Purpose, that he recorded and released with the group Akalé Wubé.
Girma, who was absent from the music scene for three decades, joined the group on September 2015 at a memorable concert in Paris, where the idea to record the album originated. Girma and Akalé Wubé released five months ago the album, produced by Buda Musique, as its 30th “Ethiopiques”, under the direction of Francis Falceto.
